Thisisafast-temposociety,everybodyhasanestablishedtimescheduleandlivesinhisownworld.Itisloveandcommunicationthatcombinesourdifferentworldstogether.However,aswespendtoomuchtimechasingourgoalsanddreams,wehaveignoredthepartnersandfriendsaroundusmoreorless.Sothatoneday,whenwesuddenlypauseandthink,wefindourselvesgettinglostinthehumancrowd.

AfterreadingDaddy-Long-Legs,Iamforcedtostopandrethink,andsavemyselfoutoftheconfusingcrowd.WhenIwasyoung,Ireadalotofromanticfairytales,andhavebuildedupawonderfulfictitiousworldinmymind.However,whenIgraduallygrowupandenterthesociety,therealworldappearstobecompletelydifferentfromwhatIhavethought.Hence,Ifeelveryupsetaboutthefraudulenttales,andbegintorefusethedeceptivesocialintercourse.Thisattitudehashelpedmetomaintainapureheart,butmeanwhiledrivedtheloveandfriendshipawayfromme.Asaresult,I’vealwaysbeenalone.SoalthoughIstudyveryhardandobtaingoodgrades,I’mnothappyatall,mylifehasbeenfilledwithdePssionandcoldnessforalongperiod.ItisDaddy-Long-Legsthatmakesmebelieveinloveandmiraclesagain.

Justlikethefairytales,thisstoryisveryromanticandbeautiful,too.However,astherearenoprincessorbeast,thisnovelismoreclosetoourreallife.Itisaboutanorphanwhoissohumorousandhardworkingthatshefinallygainshertruelove.

Judycatchesaglimpseoftheshadowofherbenefactor,andknowsheisatallman.Becauseofthis,shejokinglycallshim“Daddy-Long-Legs”。Later,Judyattendsawomen’scollege,andbeginstowriteletterstohertrustee.Assheisgoodatdescribinganecdoteswithchildlikelinedrawings,herlettersappeartobeinterestingandmeaningful.Afterwards,JudygetsstuckintheaffectionentanglementwithJervie,thismakesherextremelyconfused.ShetriestoconsultherDaddy-Long-Legsandfinallysucceeds.However,whenshemeetsthesecretman,miraclehappens.ShefindsthatJervie,themanshereallyloves,isDaddy-Long-Legs,whohasalwayssupportedherasarelative.Thenthestorycomestoanhappyending,theygetmarriedandliveahappylife.

Ilovethisstorybecauseitdemonstratesanidealworldwhichisfullofkindnessandwarmth,althoughthereisahugegapbetweenthemainroles.Itshowsthatmiraclesdohappentothosewhoarealwayshopeful.Sonomatterhowbitterthelifeis,weshouldneverloseourfaith,wemustbelievethattomorrowwillbebetter.Lifeisalongwayfilledwithmisfortuneandadversity,weshouldlearntoconfrontitbravely.Becausewhenweshedtearsformissingthesun,weshallalsomissthestars.

WhenJudyisintheorphanage,sheisallaloneintheworldandalmostdoesn’thaveanythingbelongtoher,butshestillliveshappilywithoptimism.ComparedwithJudy,today’sadolescentsaremuchmorefragile.TakeaglanceatthenewspapersandTVprogrammes,youmaynotbesurprisedtofindsomanyyoungsterscommittingsuicide,becauseitisjusttoocommonintoday’ssociety.Thisrevealsthattoday’syoungpeoplearetoopessimisticandhopeless,thustheywon’ttreasuretheirlifeseriously.Thisproblemisquitealarmingamongthepoorstudentsfromthecountryside,sincetheyhavetofacemoreobstaclesandbarriers,theyaremorestressfulthantheirpeers.Forexample,lastyearacollegegirlwhonamedLiuweiendedherlifebecauseoftheunbearablefinancialPssure.Asaresult,itisquiteurgentforthesocietytoshowtheirlovingcaretothedisadvantagedgroup.

Inconclusion,Daddy-Long-Legsisabookfulloflove,warmthandmiracles,itshowsushowtolivehappilyandmeaningfullywithhopeandkindness.Inthebluedays,weshouldkeepoptimisticandworkhardtoearnabetterlife;whileinthebrightdays,weshouldpaymoreattentiontothepoorpeoplewhoarenotsofortunateasus,thentheworldwillbecomemorebeautifulandcozy.Moreover,Italsoremindsustovaluetheloveandfriendshiparoundus.Wearealllivinginthesameworld,butifwedon’tkeepcontactwitheachother,allofuswillliveindifferentworlds.AsJudyhassetagoodexampleforustowritelettersinahumourousway,weshouldalsocontactourparentsandfriends,shareourhappinessandtearswiththem,andshowourgratitudetothem.Inthatway,ourlittleworldswillbecombinedtogether,thenwewillneverfeellonelyorhelpless.
